Fearless

After being a Rubicon student herself, choreographer and teacher Carrie Richards was offered the opportunity to create a piece to feature in the end-of-year show, ‘IMPACT 2023’. Her goal was to make us as dancers feel empowered, fierce, strong, and fearless, hence the name of the piece and the choice of music. Although this was Carrie’s original choreography for the majority of it, she still wanted our participation and so gave us different creative tasks in relation to the music. For example, with the first track, ‘Let Them Know’ by Mabel, Carrie put us into different groups and gave each of us a different section of the song to create our own choreography to, having us use different choreographic devices like formations, levels, and canon.
