Get social

Rubicon Dance, as an organisation, has held 'The Schools Dance Festival' many times in the past, and they have done it once again, this time having it set for the 11th and 12th of January 2023 in St. David's Hall. For this, we as the students were given the opportunity to perform a Street piece, choreographed by Jess Lewis, that had elements from different Street styles and took inspiration from different social moves, hence the name 'Get Social'. This is because Jess wanted to celebrate the social aspect of dance in comparison to the strict technique and classes we get taught. The main three styles we focused on, in order, were House, Waacking, and HotStepping, each with a separate track of music to go with it.
