Sweet Charity

As a part of the end-of-year show, ‘Perceptions’, the teachers decided that in the second half of the show there would actually be a mini-performance, that being 'Sweet Charity’. It would’ve been the entire show, but due to the fact that there were many other pieces that had to be performed that night in order to get assessed, for example, ‘We Ordered Chaos’ and ‘144’, it had to be shortened. Although the musical numbers weren’t the original length or in the original order, we were still able to tell the story and allow the audience to watch an eye-catching and dramatic performance of a Jazz classic. During the creative process, there were many times where we were given tasks and had to choreograph sections in order to make it more personal and interesting to watch. As well as times where we had to go in depth on the story and watch the entire movie during dance appreciation classes, allowing us to get a better understanding of the time and the key details that choreographer Bob Fosse had included. Music credit - ‘Sweet Charity Soundtrack’ (Edited to rearrange the order and length)
